Dig Site, Haven and Export headed to Titanfall

Last Week Developer Respawn Entertainment revealed the next DLC pack for the biggest current gen FPS, Titanfall. The Frontier’s Edge DLC consists of three maps; Haven – an open beach resort, Dig Site – an isolated mining post, and Export – a mountain-side mining hub. Titanfall has been constantly updated since its strong release, and is only getting better. Haven’t picked up Titanfall yet? Check out our review to see what we think about the game.

EA’s Shooter Cycle Will Consist of Battlefield, Star Wars: Battlefront, and Titanfall

Battlefront_DS90's

Last year, Electronic Arts confirmed that it was shelving Medal of Honor, leaving a AAA shooter gap between its Battlefield releases, but great plans have been made to fill this void. In an interview with CVG, EA stated its plan to work in a new rotation of shooter franchises.

“The shooter rotation we think about now is Battlefield, Titanfall and Battlefront, and so we like those three brands going forward,” Gibeau said. “We’re working out how we’re going to line that up because that’s what you’ll see from us.”

This is very exciting news, in that it shows their dedication to Star Wars: Battlefront, something I have been more than cautious towards when it comes to EA. Battlefield and Titanfall have made a large impact on Xbox One, PS4, and previous gen consoles, so this cycle is undoubtedly already starting to take shape. Seeing Titanfall is this cycle can almost guarantee a multi-platform release for the next installment. EA is cycling what it plans to be its three biggest shooters, and they wouldn’t want to hold such potential to one console, though this is only speculation.

Respawn Announces No Online Pass for Titanfall, No Word On Season Pass

Update: Respawn has retracted their statement, clarifying that Titanfall will not have an Online Pass, like previous EA Titles. As far as a Season Pass, information has still not been provided.

Titanfall_ds90

Respawn has officially confirmed that there will not be a season pass for Titanfall, via twitter conversation. They did not go on to say whether there would be DLC, however being a primarily online shooter, I find it very unlikely not to expect any form of downloadable content.
